By-law not interested in who frequents, if you are on the table , they won’t enter room , just stay where you are , wait it out , you are not what they’re there for

Heard LE had put notices on some spas in New Market warning people the spas were not legal. If it gets to such a stage, I would not visit those spas because there is no excuse that I don't know the spa is not legitimate. I would still visit spas in RH unless they got to such a stage.

Although I have not been to the area, an owner st 155 called me and said she is closed for now until she finds a RMT. She mentioned other shops in the area is also closed.

I've no idea about this specific case, but what is being described sounds like an Order To Comply. Removing such an Order is an offence. Take a look at the Municipal Act.

And again, for clarity, I have no idea if such Orders were posted on spa doors in Newmarket in 2019. However, if they were, it would not have been an unusual occurrence.

How does one know if a dude sitting in a car works for bylaw enforcement? Are they driving the city vehicle? Or a white panel van or something?

They drive small white SUVs with the City of Richmond HIll By-law stencilled on the side and rear in green.

Below is what Happyman had posted. I think the wording was twisted a bit. Most likely the notices were hand delivered to spa owners saying their operations were not legal. Warning people by posting notice? I don't think so.

They won't be sitting in the car and watching . They will pretend as customers, walk into the spas and ask the girl what kind of service she provides. That's the only way they can issue a ticket to the girl. They just can't give tickets to the girls just because they were in the spas.


I saw Bylaw driving around in R Hill checking which spas were open yesterday. They may do some inspections sometimes this week but no drastic actions , just a few tickets here and there as usual according to my sources .
