I get it, that would be the most prudent advice for the more cautious person. I guess I don't mind saying I support several of these shops at EBC and hope to see them adapt and ride it out.

More than a few times on short notice I have time but don't book, just pull into the building, visit Uncle Dan to prank him, see who is available at SL or JR or BU or even Bellagio back in the day, and have done the life is a box of chocolates thing, nice for a change. All the bosses are nice and most of the shops have good rosters so again, I am trying to get the best intel that helps us understand risk assessment.

I am a free market social liberal, so let supply meet demand and the result is usually pretty good for any business. I am a semi legit patron, so no trafficked ladies involved. just women who have made the calculation on whether earnings are worth the efforts. Luckily some of these ladies rise to the challenge and provide excellent value for time and money.

So far so good as far as has been reported, but early days here. Let's keep our eyes open and soldier on. Good hobbying!

I saw this too. Didn’t someone here say every attendant needs an RMT license? Sounds like the two assistants would either get a ticket or told to go home if bylaw visits?

Most of the spas are seeing clients by appointments only and the front doors are locked. So the girls are pretty safe. .

Life is not easy for business owners. How much income can two assistants generate? Probably hanging on, hoping things will be back to normal after a while.

If a bylaw officer enters a spa and is greeted by an owner or attendant or receptionist.. does the officer announce who they are with ID ? and then ask to go to each room and knock and enter? or just knock? or do they just ask to have each person speak to them? If they knock and enter and find just an assistant in there with a patron, is that enough to give a ticket or do they have to see physical contact? Can the assistant just say she is cleaning, getting clean towels, until the rmt is available? I think as long as an assistant does not ADMIT to providing any physical contact,(massage)services, while working there, then can they just say they are cleaners and not get ticketed?

I wouldn't mind knowing of any previous ticket accounts and exactly how it went down...

I would install a floor buzzer or a switch in the reception desk with a red flashing light or a bell in each room to give warnings once you knew the bylaw guy had arrived. Or crank the music volume up in the spa... if this sort of thing is not illegal... just spit balling here.

Not so simple. The "assistant" needs to be registered and undergo a medical examination.

I went for massage today at one of my favorite spas near EBC. No issues whatsoever, everything seemed normal except that there were less girls and more quiet than normal. That suited me just fine...

She can also lock the 2nd door for extra safety but today it was open and I walked right in…

I'm pretty sure if they suspect that a spa is operating when it shouldn't be, they will observe.

Here’s where cameras help. Best places to go to are the ones with back door.

Most spas have CCTV cameras covering the front parking lot and back doors and can see clearly what's going on.. Bylaw don't have enough man power to sit whole day at the front and back watching who's going in and out. It can happen only if you have pissed off Bylaw officers some how somewhere. Most of the Bylaw officers are nice and friendly people just doing their jobs. If you're nice and polite with them, show them respect, they won't come after you. If you're rude to them, show no respect, they will come after you no matter where you move.

....or possibly if a spa is still advertising, maybe they take that as a slap in the face!

Unfortunately I don’t feel this is sustainable. Perhaps buy some time to sort things out or just buffer the inevitable. Help us with our withdrawals from these places and establish alternative sources. The thought looming is how widespread will these crusades become.
