Opinion Why do MPA's expect 10$ or more for tip for basic massage with no HE?

how about include the tips in the room fee ($50). I can understand why some people think $10 tips if ridiculous. That is 25 % tips based on the assumption you pay $40 for the room fee.

At the same time, the attendant shouldn't be bitching at you for small tips. That is absolutely unacceptable and make the company looks bad. if they attendants don't like the compensation structure, they can work for others or look for other jobs.

I have been working in the customer field for over 12 years now. I did some of that in restaurants. I am grateful whatever the tips the customers give.

Learn the art of negotiation, it will go a long way and do some researches before hand to know the industry prices. Don't let the girls push you around,.

I havw had shitty sessions because they ask for tips in the middle of session (after 20 minutes) & bj is $100 tip. Fs is $250 at Hollywood Spa
So when you try to walk away, you only pay room fee or include small tip for shit service ?

Normally I don't do massage only at semi-legits because I know the MPAs don't like it. With Ella, it's ok because if she wasn't giving me a massage she would just be sitting at reception anyways and I put up with all the interruptions. And for what it's worth, I still tip her generously.

Here's an idea for the OP. Learn how to give a massage. I'm still going to MPA's homes and not paying a penny for a very fun time. I just need to give them a good 30 mins massage...hey, there could be worse things to do than massage a nice, naked MPA ☺

OP, if you went to an AMP that you know provides extras, I'm sorry but you are barking up the wrong tree, and this complaint isn't warranted.

You come across as a cheap cheap guy. These women are human beings and they work very hard. Massaging, even for 30 mins is tiring. Even if you do not have them touch your junk, you should tip decently. And if you decide to be a cheap ass, you definitely shouldn't come on a review board and advertise that you are a cheap ass. They have a standard pricing tier and you should make yourself familiar.

If you want a legit massage, that is good, then book at a RMT. Although you should tip well there too, they do get paid more, as you pay more, and take a higher percentage. You'll get the massage you are after more likely than not, and you wont be obligated to tip, although you should just like with any other service.

If you go to an AMP type place, that is a completely tip driven industry, and insult the attendant with $5 even if you are unhappy with the service... you are in the wrong. Just don’t go back. Maybe leave a sub-par review. Those are acceptable ways to respond to this. You made the choice to go there. You took up her time. You know the situation and how they run their business. That is a gamble you took. Bitching and complaining and handing out less than a Starbucks Latte worth of loose change makes you look horrible. It is insulting dude.

Regarding tips.
If I'm happy with the quality of the service, I tip well. That has nothing to do with the level of options. I'm talking about quality, whatever the level of service is.

Did she give me an honest effort? Did she go above and beyond in some way? Did she remember something specific from a previous visit? Was she friendly? Did it seem like she wanted to be there? Did I feel like she was definitely trying to please me?

If the service is mediocre, I'll still tip, but I'm not as generous as I might normally be.

If the service is horrible, I'll still leave a tip. I simply will not return for a second try.

If the service is poor due to a lack of skill but the effort is there, that's one thing. If the service is poor due to a bad attitude, that's a whole other story, and I will consider sending a message with how I tip, but that has been a very rare occurrence for me.

To the guy above me that responded with "If I'm happy with the quality of service..." well post nut clarity is a real thing. MPA's are known to shill/lie/mislead on their ads and be overly aggressive in getting a customer to stay. Low tipping should be expected in an industry like this.

I don't understand this reasoning so I went to Oceanic palace recently for just a massage and no HE. At the end of the session when I got dressed to pay and leave the MPA expected at least 10$ in tip from me. I paid 5$ because she provided a mediocore massage and service and she sweared at me in Mandarin. I don't understand this reasoning why do most MPA's expect any tip or minimum 10$ tip for most massage? I am not even a regular at this place and even if I was a regular I wouldn't pay 10$ extra for basic massage. I don't understand why the business owners just don't pay these MPA more?. They expect the customer to give them extra in tip money. I know many people will call me cheap here and what not but the truth is I am not rich like many of you and don't have extra money that I don't need to handout. I prioritize how much I spend on regular massages vs other services that provided to me at spas. Fuck them if they don't accept my 5$ tip...

How the MPAs get paid can vary from place to place.
It depends largely on each owner's business model.
