Hey guys,

Yes, I know this might be off the theme of los, but there is a link when you think about it.

I've been gone for a few weeks working on a new acquisition for my company, it looks like I will be headed to china before I get to stop off in los, this will be my first trip to china, so I'm wanting to know if any of my fellow bm's have any inside info on china in general...any experiences...anyone currently living there ect..

I was in Shanghai earlier this year and it is a stunning city. Yes there is poverty in certain parts, but show me a major city that does not have this problem?? The scale of the city and the speed of development is astounding and many parts of it are amazing. Hotels are reasonable and the nightlife is brilliant! Can I reccomend the Grand Hyatt in the Jing Mao building which is the tallest in asia. The Cloud 9 bar on the 89th floor is awesome! In terms of having fun then there is no problem in Shanghai. Some great bars and places to eat on The Bund with is the street by the river. Also if you fancy some fun with members of the opposite sex the go to Judy Too's it is a single bar downtown. If you are not going to Shanghai then sorry!

You need to be more accurate about which city you are going to and I can help you as I've had extensive China experience. You can find fun in almost every city but it's more complicated then LOS. Let me know the city and I'll fill you in.

Here's the itenerary. Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Bejeng, Shanghai.

I think that's about it....Yes Sorry about being so general, china is huge!!....Wasn't thinking very clearly at that moment in time...kind of spaced it out.

I hv to say that it is more expensive to drink in Shanghai than in Bkk at the more popular places.
Have not been to Peking for a while but what I hv heared it is quite expensive there also, compared to what it was couple of years ago.

Eating are still cheap but not so good if you don't eat at the hotel. That is for Farang food. Chin food are cheap n good.

the ladies are not so easy to find if you don't know where to look.

I have spent some time in Hong Kong. There is so much to do there it is hard to know where to start! Loads of sights to see and culture to experience. The view from Kowloon across to Hong Kong island at night is amazing and probably worth a visit on its own. There are endless shopping areas in Hong Kong and if you can’t find what you are looking for it probably does not exist. The nightlife is varied and fantastic. My own personally experience was that the Chinese kept themselves to themselves socially. They seemed to stick to the own nightlife areas (Karaoke, karaoke and more Karaoke!) and absolutely everybody else stuck together. There are plenty of Philippine girls around if you want to stick to the Asian girls! It really is a fantastic, safe city to visit.

The downside is that it is BLOODY EXPENSIVE!

Just so its clear, expense really isn't an issue...its a company trip, so outside of girls I'll be taken care of....and I wouldn't travel half way around the world and eat anything other than asian!! Girls and Food.

3 years ago i was in Bejing and som other, small places i cant pronauns.
When you are in Bejing Hard Rock massageplanete is worth trying, we had plenty fun ther. Many "business" girls from verios parts of the world. Many from several of the former soviet states.
Plenty of nightlife, many thing to see (forbedden city, great wall of china, silk marked, etc).
And i have never seen so many luksurius cars in one city....

I'm currently in Shenzhen, Futian district. It's not much to see and do here, but the beer is cheap and the girls are great. If you speak a few words of mandarin you'll have freebies all around.
The LONs catering for the buissness men in the upscale hotels are very expensive, but if you venture into the backstreets you'll get ST for 150-200 and LT for 300-500. There are real stunners to be found!

Shanghai and HK I don't know about, because I haven't been there yet. Any specifics are welcome!

Thanks for some of the insights posted.

Shagrath, I don't have a firm date just yet, but right now I am thinking between dec/jan.

While I can see that it won't be as cheap as say los, it does not sound outrageous.

I am just looking forward to the experience, I have no expectations set for the trip as its business first with me on this trip, but I always try and learn as much as I can before going anywhere, look at how many people have been helped out by coming to this board before going to los, it pays to do ones homework.
