Owners branch out to bring peace and calm to real estate
Soluna Yoga and Spa will celebrate its 10th anniversary from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 8 with a free yoga class and party to thank the community for its support.
Itโs been a busy decade of growth for the studio, which husband and wife partners Dori and Christian Thomsen first opened in Fairfax in 2014. After nearly five years of offering yoga classes and massage therapy services in that location, the Thomsens found they needed more space.
โThere were nine of us (on staff) when we first opened,โ Dori Thomsen said. โNow, there are 30 of us. Some of our teachers and staff have been with us since opening day.โ
The studio has also seen another kind of organic growth, she added. โSome of our original students are now teaching with us,โ she said.โ Thatโs really great.โ
The decision to offer both yoga and massage therapy services was a conscious one, Thomsen said.
โWe see them both as forms of wellness,โ she said.
โWhen someone is feeling good about themselves, that ripples on to the next person. We see Soluna as a form of spreading peace and raising the frequency of Riverside. Itโs the perfect marriage of yoga and massage.โ
Now, as Soluna embarks on its second decade of operations, the Thomsens are making another leap โ this one into the world of real estate with Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realtyโs Avondale office.
โWe are already in a peaceful industry,โ Thomsen said, โand we want to bring that same calm experience to home buyers and sellers.โ
