Predictions for when Spas will Reopen?

Predicting when spas will be open, will be predicated a lot by what happens in other provinces reopenings... Another factor for us in Ontario will be how other jurisdictions which will certainly open their massage facilities before we do..... How they handle the protocols and guidelines and if any significant spikes in cases occur... Manitoba is looking to open RMT establishments in a couple of weeks

RMT's will more than likely work with a mask on and possibly require patients to wear a mask as well. The majoriry of people here have already suggrsted they would not see someone if they had to wear a mask and get reduced levels of service.

RMT and holistic spas are worlds apart.

The bigger question is when will you be comfortable going? For those really in need of a massage they are available now. Some on here have written about their adventures and been castigated for it. If the government permitted the spas to open today how many would be willing to go? The government granting permission does not make it more safe. They will simply be issuing guidelines on opening. It doesn't mean you will not get sick (just less likely to get sick). I think most people (attendants included) will take a wait and see approach. People will likely watch to see if the number of cases increases as things open up and I think an increase in infections can be expected and that doesn't even factor in a possible increase come fall and winter during the regular flu season. Short of a vaccine I do not see things returning any time soon. I am fortunate enough to have an arrangement with an MPA (semi-legit only) that has allowed me to continue my massage visits unabated (I understand that for many this is reckless behavior on both are parts but the situation is rather unique). If the spas open and she returns to work at the spas I would have to reconsider seeing her at all due to the increased likelihood of her catching the illness from others.

It is a unique situation and as such difficult to explain without my risking her, directly or indirectly though someone else, identifying my post as having come from me and in doing so risk her terminating our arrangement (I would rather she not know that I participate on this forum).

My point is that an arrangement like mine currently is safer, I think, than it will be when the spas reopen. Most people are on the sidelines now while I get to continue to enjoy myself (not without risk but with limited risk like other activities we engage in while shopping or for some people working). When things reopen and most return to their "massage lifestyle" is likely when I will find myself on the sidelines because at that point the risk, for me, will be higher than it is now (the other alternative is to walk away from this lifestyle, right now, forever or at least until there is a vaccine). Maybe if they make accurate antibody tests readily available, and I or my attendant test positive for antibodies, then returning to the spas becomes doable.

Correction, they shut them during the initial lockdown in regions they felt had a high number of cases. But claimed they had everything in control and opened everything back up in those regions which is proving that their original strategy is flawed which brings it back to what I and the rest of the world is saying. They opened everything up too early and are now paying the price.

Singapore was also praised at first for how they handled the spread but guess what they just got hit with a huge wave of cases.

Korea doesn't really test everyone read up on "patient 31". I have friends in Korea they all told me they never really had anything under control and just put on an act and lied because the world was praising them for handling it well when in fact they did not. So in order to keep the lie going they encouraged people to go out and shop which they called it "revenge shopping". which had now proven to be a foolish idea.

well depending on the region in korea spas might be open but those aren't areas to get good looking girls lol. It's like saying oshawa has spas open and they only have ugly oshawa MPAs there. Not something to really be happy about haahaa.

Public health over privacy. I don't mind the Korean system. I was watching BBC news last week and they were showing how Korea was using contact tracing. One infected lady went into a coffee shop and after she came out, the people passing by the coffee shop were alerted on their phone about her infection. I guess BBC was trying to convince their country people to down load the contact tracing apps to help curve the spread.

BTW..it was nice of Trudeau to give seniors $500 bucks tax free starting end of this month to help cope with the hard time of Covic 19. I am really having a HARD time and it's a big help for seniors and good for 5 sessions...hehe.

Korea charges people to test which is approx $185 CAD if you don't have a doctors referral. There is going to be a lot of people that are not going to pay that money to test themselves as proven by the recent outbreak. Korea is known to have the best universal health care system in the world ad they are offering testing to anyone but you have to pay which a lot of people are not doing.

As I pointed out, provided proof and also mentioned I have friends living there. Korea does region lockdowns so it's basically the same in the sense that for example if Hamilton were to get cases they would close that city down meanwhile keep Toronto open. But guess what? nothing is really stopping anyone from travelling from Hamilton to Toronto. So now you see why Korea's strategy has proven to be flawed. They aren't really stoping anything and the media is now questioning if their numbers are even true.

Look at our numbers do you actually think we could do what korea did and make it work? Ontario has to date 20,907 cases and we did a full lockdown and it's still growing. Meanwhile Korea has (if true) 10,936 cases. They can play around with their testing and strategy since they did not have as big of a pandemic as we did.

not in the areas that are locked down as I gave you an example the area that have it open are the areas that don't have good looking girls. Its seniors in nursing homes, who are already sick and close to death anyways, that are dying from Covid. Not the healthy population.
