Is there a Club "Hollywood"??

I was in S.J. a couple of weeks ago and based on all the stuff I read, I made it a point to try and go to either Le Grillon or Pantera Rosa. On 2 seperate occasions when I asked the Taxi drivers to take me to these places they looked at me starnge and insisted I didn't want to go there because "it's in a bad area". The 1st driver kept hounding me to let him take me to a "Club Hollywood" which I have never heard of. I finally made him take me to Kamur. In any event, is there a Club Hollywood and secondly..are Le Grillon and Pantera Rosa really in "bad" areas or should I just be more insistent with the cabbie next time.

Piroca-- A common scam with cabbies in San Jose is as follows:

Certain establishments (usually those that are hurting and SUCK!!) will pay a cab a nominal fee for bringing in new business. Cabbies, motivated by the incentive that they will make a commission off certain establishments for every patron that they take there, are inclined to try to convince their passengers to go to these specific places. The part that really sucks is that the establishment usually turns around and charges the cabbie commission to YOU one way or another. Seems like this Hollywood club was the place with the big payout the night in question.

Le Grillion and Pantera aren't in the BEST locations of San Jose, but trust me on this, if you get straight out of the cab and into the bar, and do the same when leaving, you run very-little-to-no risk at all of danger.

Club Hollywood-- Never heard of it, but I'm still pretty much a Newbie, so chances are it exists and I'm just a 'tard who's never gotten wind of it.

Always remember you are in charge, and if a cabbie doesn't want to take you where YOU WANT TO GO, you either repeat where you want to go, this time with authority and a little more forcefully, or get out of the car and grab one of the thousand other cabs driving right behind the one you just got out of.

Johanna is there will have to connect. I have her cell from April but probably not in service. The life of these chica's cell numbers is about 5 minutes... :shock:

Hollywood is a BIG TIME ripoff. It is in Sabana Sur, has been there at least 15 years and exists on scamming you out of big bucks. Get the check...say wow way to much...I won't pay. They have a few guys who will convince you it is your best interest to pay.

Even Rico (CRS) had them blacklisted.

Speaking of Johanna...I saw her working the Del Rey my last visit, and true to form, she was about 24 sheets to the wind. I think Hazel was with me, and saw her stumbling around. She kept trying to get me for a session (which I would have done, if she were half sober). She was so bad, in fact, she introduced me to her friends about 4 times. and yes, she informed me that she is indeed at club hollywood.
