Yeah definitely agree to just keep walking. I didn't really have problems with them but there were times when it got annoying... when it was busy and ppl were everywhere.

My first trip recently to Patong and on the first night, they did piss me off and were everywhere! All over me and my mate like a rash as we must of been wandering around looking and trying to work out where we were. By the 3rd night no hassle at all, but by the end of the week when drunk sometimes we'd ask who certain girls were on there bits of paper and they said they didn't know. And just walk off.

The most annoying has to be the English and Australian guys selling tickets, not sure many of you get them as your a bit older than me. But they did **** me off, come talk to me all really friendly and asking where i was going tonight and shit. Trying to get me to buy a ticket for 300 baht for all i could drink for 2 hours. Don't bother you when you tell them you came for ladyboys and Thai girls.

I've never seen any falang touts in pattaya, is this a patong only specialty ??

A friend just came back from Patong, told me he drank in the tiger bar downstairs.
after reading other reports over the last few years I had to laugh, he did get stung a few times.
AND I told him to check this forum. he says the bar name has changed to something new.
New name, old tricks maybe.

Yes, I have to say I've not had any problem with Touts. At first I used to smile and say "No thank you" and keep walking. Now I just walk past pretending they aren't there. I've certainly never had anyone follow me into a bar, and if they wanted to charge anything more than the normal price for a beer, I'd just walk out.

I love the taxi drivers who offer you a "you beaut" price of say 20baht, but then say they have to go somewhere else along the way. Do not agree to this, either agree on a proper price or tell them to switch on their meter. If they insist upon taking you anywhere at all but where you wish to go, get out of the taxi and find another one.

Definitely good advise. Always agree on "no stop" prices for the taxi's.

Don't know if its a patong specialty but one little Pom who accosted me in Jan is in for a bad time if I catch up with him. He thought I would fall for the old scratchie trick for a time share holiday. If he is that dumb I have a bridge down in Sydney all ready for him to buy. One owner hardly ever used, maintinance included with adjoining Entertainment Venue.
