[Foggy Idea]

Hi folks

I've visited the chat room quite often since I joined AB and rarely find anyone there. I'm a slow learner!! If anyone is in the room it's usually other mp.nets, but never the fine ladies.

Do you girls go to the chat room at all? It would be great to set aside a time when we could all meet there for a chin wag. Opportunity to discuss a whole range of issues or just practice our sparkiling repartee!!

Thoughts anyone?

I used to visit the chatroom almost every night in it's hayday. It was like having a few drinks with Reviewiends without having to leave home. There was a central core of regulars, but it was always nice to have non-regs and strangers pop in.

It was great when a lovely lady popped in. When that happened we all used to flirt madly. You could hardly get a word in edgewise, but at all times it was great fun. It was also fun when some young horny fellas stumbled in blatantly trying to score a root! Oneatatime and I used to lead them on something terrible. Sometimes we'd have interesting conversations about cars and the like, but usually we just relaxed and practiced our sparkling repartee. Rarely a night went by when I didn't piss myself laughing. There sure were some funny guys there.

In July last year, I tried to recruit more chatters Reviewom the forums, but without any success. I guess not many people are in a position to Reviewitter away a few hours with idle chit-chat late at night. I guess also most people can't be bothered with the Reviewivolity or maybe feel a bit left out, or maybe prefer to watch rubbish on TV. Also if they are sober, it's not much fun to listen to a mob of drunks acting the fool, so I'm told! In the good old days, not everyone in the chatroom contributed, but they seemed to be happy to sit around and laugh, which was fine by me.

Anyway things have changed and the chatroom aint what it used to be, which in one way is a good thing for me, as it was becoming an addiction.

Hey Merlin. You sound like my sort of guy.....hang on....I didn't mean it THAT way!!

The way you describe the chat room of old is exactly the sort of place I was hoping to log in to. Ah well.....perhaps you're right, we may be in the minority now of those who prefer to chat rather than veg in Reviewont of the TV!!
Hope to catch you in the chat room at some seforum.xxxe so we can piss ourselves laughing....I need one of those sessions about now!!!

Hiya Candy,

If you are trying to enter the chat room Reviewom the web page, it will ask if you wish to download and execute the chat application (sometimes known as an "applet") published by "JPilot Software Company". Answer "yes" (or "run") to this prompt and it will proceed.

It may take a little while to download if you are on dial-up, but once installed it will proceed to the "login" page. Enter a "nick" or user name, and accept the default entries for the "room" and "server" and it should then log you in.

If you have any difficulties or any questions, just yell...

Yeah well Cnady your not alone. Took me about 18 mounths to figure it all out. The Godess Empress Nikki even rang me to try and help me figure it still couldn't figure it out, still did in the end though. I'm a bit of a redish blonde so that's my excuse.

The best time to find someone in the chat room is probably between 7:00PM and midnight, though if things are kicking along, then people often stay later. There may be people present outside of these times, but they may be doing other things.

One thing to note is that people tend to chat in bursts, that is to say that it's often not a continuous stream, so if you log in and there are people there, but don't see anyone chatting, it may just be because they have looked away Reviewom the chat window for a few moments.

I have seen countless people log in, sit there for 10 seconds or less and log out without a word. So log in, say hello so people know you're there and wait a few minutes to see if there's a reply.

Another thing to note is that we prefer to have people chatting in the main room.

If there is a lady present and you have something you wish to discuss privately with her then please, in fairness to any other chat users (as this tends to monopolise a lady's chat time) unless you know her well, ask first before opening a private conversation. It can be rather daunting for a lady to enter the chat room and be instantly conReviewonted with lots of windows popping up Reviewom people wanting to "private chat" with her.
