Burnaby bylaws require window in the room; is that not invasion of privacy?

Its quite interesting to see the different bylaws in Vancouver and Burnaby for MPs.

Yesterday I dropped by Diamond on 3678 E. Hastings, just west of Boundary which is the border with Burnaby. Nothing special or out of the ordinary.

Then I walk across the street to check out some New Age place on the Burnaby side, and all the doors have a big clear glass window for people to look through into the room. The lady said it was Burnaby's bylaws. I assume you can't cover the window up either during a session.

They also have to have a sign out front saying that you have to be 19 to enter the premises and may require a driver's license for proof of age.

Walked over to Cloud 9 and saw the same things, clear glass windows in doors and 19 age sign out front. Same thing at Butterfly. And Lotus Relaxation.

None of those regulations in Vancouver and I also believe Surrey. However I recall Richmond is like Burnaby. What is the issue here, Burnaby's Mayor or the RCMP?

How can you have a MP east of Boundary with windows in doors and age signs and 300 feet west in Vancouver on the other side of Boundary nothing of the sort? Just seems strange... and not right either

Different cities, different rules. BTW, the 19 age thing is everywhere.

Windows are in the doors in Toronto, small about 8x6 inches, clothes hook just above it though

The fox den had the same thing...fear not though, the windows were covered up during sessions and I would imagine it's the same with the other places.

Same problem now in Richmond (Swan).

with the coordinated raids on AMP's in the lower mainland a few months back a number of them were cited for bylaw infractions concerning windows in doors. Now many of them will not hang anything over windows during the act for fear that if found out again they will loose their license. Local governments would love nothing more than to have a excuse to revoke their business permits.

If the lights are turned down real low in the room its pretty hard for anyone walking down the hall to see much of anything inside.
