Antonio Brown, a former wide receiver in the NFL, recently criticized Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, harshly, citing Kraft's infamous 2019 indictment over a sex incident at a massage parlour. After watching a video related to the Massage Championship World Tour event, Brown made this comment.
"Where the Robert Kraft special at tho?" Brown said in response to comedian Theo Von's tweet regarding the event. This remark emphasizes the continued scrutiny of Kraft, who was accused of soliciting sex at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Florida, in February 2019. During a multi-location human trafficking investigation, Kraft was one of more than 25 people arrested.
Kraft eventually apologized for his conduct, admitting that they had upset his family and Patriots supporters, but he denied the charges. Even if the charges were dropped in September 2020, Kraft's reputation is still severely damaged by the episode.
Video evidence purportedly showed Kraft participating in illegal acts at the massage parlour, which sparked his legal troubles. He insisted on his innocence in relation to soliciting prostitution after his detention. However, Kraft's case was essentially closed in July 2021 when a court ordered the videos to be destroyed.
The New England Patriots and Antonio Brown had a short-lived relationship. Shortly after the Las Vegas Raiders cut him loose, he joined the team on September 7, 2019. Brown signed a $15 million one-year contract with the Patriots, which included a sizable signing bonus. However, he only played one game before being cut on September 20 because of accusations of misbehaviour and threatening communications he made to an accuser.
Brown's recent remarks serve as a reminder of the NFL's intricacies and problems, especially in relation to the power dynamics between team owners and players. Given his own turbulent departure from the sport, his comments on Kraft highlight the league's lingering difficulties.
